JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Health, the Inuvialuit Health Systems Navigator will work to increase awareness and access to health and benefit services available to Inuvialuit and other eligible clients including territorial health insured services & supplemental health programs, and non-insured health services and benefits. The Inuvialuit Health Systems Navigator may participate in various GNWT and Canada health and social service forums to gain information and provide advice. The Inuvialuit Health System Navigator will support projects focused on improving Inuvialuit health.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
At least 2 years’ experience in administrative role or equivalent.
Proven previous experience liaising with public.
Effective oral and written skills in English.
Effective organization skills.
Proven understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding client information.
Fluency in Inuvialuktun is an asset.
Must be reliable and dependable.
Self-directed with strong motivation to support individual and communities to access equitable health services and outcomes
Proven ability to deal simultaneously with multiple priorities under elevated levels of stress and pressure.
Ability to work with demanding deadlines.
Knowledge of territorial health benefits and the Non-insured Health Benefits program is an asset.
Must have ability to build and maintain a good working relationship with partners
