About Us Rabbit Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, produced over 200 million pounds of uranium concentrate from 1975 through 2016 and is currently in a safe state of care and maintenance. The uranium mined and milled at Rabbit Lake has been used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.
The Role Cameco is looking for a passionate professional to lead the environment and quality functions at the Rabbit Lake operation. You will lead a committed team with a focus on ensuring the environment and quality programs are implemented effectively, that operational activities are compliant with all applicable regulatory and internal requirements, and that performance meets established criteria. You will coordinate activities of the team members, other departments and corporate personnel to deliver timely reporting, responses to regulatory and stakeholder inquiries, and to address inspection or audit results. You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the environmental performance of the operation and ensuring protection of the environment consistent with program requirements and regulatory approvals. The role will also seek performance improvements while identifying and pursuing opportunities to create efficiencies in delivery and operational activities.
In this role, you will:
Provide leadership and direction to the environment and quality teams and indirectly to other departments
Participate in various initiatives and studies while representing the best interests of Cameco and the operation
Communicate with regulatory agencies and representatives
Collaborate with cross functional project and inter-operational teams
Provide contractor management and oversight
Coach and develop team members to improve overall performance and to achieve results
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field
Ten years of related experience with five years in a supervisory capacity
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 9001 management systems
Familiarity with applicable federal and provincial environmental regulations
Work a flexible site-based schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Recommended:
Relevant experience in the mining and/or nuclear industry
Meet requirements of a qualified person for applicable activities under the Saskatchewan Environmental Code
Emergency response/mine rescue experience and/or certification or willingness to obtain
Proficient in CIRS, ISNet, Microsoft Office, and/or environmental database software

The Rabbit Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
