Primary objective

Support the operational services provided across the procurement and contract management portfolio and play support

role in implementing the Agency's agenda to increase agency accountability and improve corporate and operational

governance.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide advice to departmental staff on appropriate tendering options, templates and processes and the

interpretation of the procurement framework requirements.

2. Assist with the preparation of tender documentation to ensure professional standards are maintained consistently

across the Department.

3. Contribute to the ongoing development and training of staff to improve procurement skills and knowledge in tender

preparation and assessment, through the management of intranet resources, ensuring relevance and currency of

content through the NTG web-based system, and the delivery of workshops.

4. Conduct reviews of procurement projects to identify compliance issues and improvement opportunities.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Sound knowledge of procurement processes including sourcing, tendering and contract management and the need

to ensure policy compliance for procurement activity.

2. Sound knowledge of contracts and procurement systems, frameworks, policy, procedure and processes as applied in

the NT.

3. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders

in a customer-focussed environment and influence outcomes without direct authority.

4. Ability to work under pressure, prioritise own workload to meet competing demands and identify when escalation is

required.

5. Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development to ensure skills and knowledge maintain pace

with changing environment.

6. Good information management and technology skills including the ability to prepare tender documents and reporting.

Desirable

1. Certificate IV in procurement/business/administration or similar
