We are seeking a Maintenance & Contracts Officer to join our Maintenance Contracts & Minor Works Group within the Customer Delivery Division. Base salary of up to $93,607 plus 11.5% Superannuation
The Opportunity As the Maintenance & Contracts Officer you will manage contracts for the maintenance and delivery of minor work to Hunter Water’s civil assets. This role will also focus on maintenance contracts and will include works to be delivered wholly by contractors and contracts for work delivered in partnership with Hunter Water employees.
What you'll do:
Deliver contract management functions including but not limited to preparation of specifications, assessing tenders, allocation of work and reporting, assessment of claims and invoice processing and managing contractor performance
Prepare drawings, sketches and specifications as working details to enable contractors to carry out maintenance work considering Safety, Environmental and cost requirements
Investigate and respond to customer enquiries and complaints including implementation of both planned and reactive maintenance works
Carry out site investigation work to establish job needs, prepare/obtain estimates and quotes and prepare necessary documentation
Provide collaborative advice and support to relevant internal and external stakeholders on asset maintenance issues
What you'll need to be successful: Essential Criteria:
Relevant qualifications in a Building Trade (i.e. building and construction or carpentry and joinery) or in Engineering (Civil or similar) and/or Project Management
Knowledge of building maintenance
Sound computer literacy in MS Office programs including Work, Excel and Outlook
Construction Induction Card
Class C Drivers licence and ability to tow a trailer
Proven ability to work effectively in a team and demonstrate a high level of self-motivation
Strong organisational skills
Proven ability to effectively manage relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
Proven ability to deliver a high level of customer focus and navigate complex customer situations
Excellent communication skills

Desirable Criteria:
Experience in the development and implementation of specifications and contract documents
Experience in contract management and/or administration
Recent experience in building industry trades
Experience in building maintenance
Experience working within the requirements of procurement policies and procedures
Report writing and documentation skills
