Primary objective
The Housing Asset Maintenance Officer provides project, administrative and financial services to the Housing Property
Services team ensuring cost effective and timely management of all processes involved in achieving the delivery of
responsive repairs and maintenance programs on Northern Territory Government owned and leased properties across
Central Australia.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide administrative, financial and project services to the Property Services team.
2. Provide a professional and courteous client service when repairs and maintenance issues are reported through the
Maintenance Call Centre.
3. Arrange, liaise and engage contractors, raise work orders and electronically file related correspondence.
4. Provide support and training to the Maintenance Support Officers to ensure the timely coordination and action of the
maintenance requests.
5. Assess and seek appropriate approval to process contractor invoices and ensure all contractors are paid within the
mandated timeframe and prepare and submit remittance advices.
6. Monitor outstanding work orders to support contractor performance, identify and escalate issues.
7. Accurately undertake inputting and analysis of data to ensure a high level of integrity to enable accurate financial
reporting.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Sound knowledge of project and program administration processes and procedures.
2. Proven written and verbal communication skills, including preparing timely, clear and concise written reports and
correspondence.
3. Proven ability to plan, organise and manage multiple tasks within strict timeframes to achieve workplace objectives.
4. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Advanced computer literacy including ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and computer databases. Including
the ability to design and maintain complex spreadsheets.
6. Sound knowledge regarding research, data analysis and co-ordinating information.
7. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings to staff and clients who have come from a
diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds.
Desirable
1. Sound knowledge of or an ability to obtain a thorough understanding of the relevant legislation, regulations and
guidelines to service delivery and asset management of Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics dwellings.
