About the role Activ’s timber manufacturing business produces a range of timber products such as pallets, bed bases, crates and customised orders. The team in Bunbury is experiencing a busy period of growth due to ongoing work and new contracts. To support this work, we have two new positions available for general hands. New – someone who wants to get their start in a production environment, while also working with people living with disability. This will offer the opportunity to gain skills in the workplace with future development opportunities available. Candidates must be over 18. $24.10 per hour (approx. $47,700 equivalent). Experienced – someone with a background in timber or production who is looking to use their skills while working with people living with disability in a supportive environment. $24.98 per hour (approx. $49,500 equivalent). Both positions will be offered on a permanent full time basis, working Monday to Friday, 7:24am-3:30pm. Duties include:
Working alongside supported employees in completing all tasks
Timber product manufacturing, packaging, and assembly tasks
Setting up wood cutting and profiling machinery to make components
Loading timber into machines and operating saw machines
Moving timber products around the warehouse and making deliveries
Maintaining a safe and tidy workplace
What you need:
Great attitude towards working with people living with disability
Experience in or ability to work in a busy manufacturing environment
Experience in or ability to ensure the safe operation of plant, tools and equipment
Someone who communicates well with their fellow team members
Current full WA driver’s licence, Heavy Rigid license desirable
