Job Description: We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing individualised support to clients with disabilities in a variety of settings, including residential homes, community, and day programs. Your primary duties will include assisting clients with daily activities, personal care, medication administration, and facilitating community engagement and social activities. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with other team members to develop and implement individualised support plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences. Key Responsibilities:
Provide personal care and assistance with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Administer medications as prescribed and assist clients with medication management. (Competency trained staff)
Support clients in participating in community activities, social events, and recreational outings.
Work within individualised support plans in collaboration with clients and families.
Document client progress, behaviors, and incidents accurately and maintain up-to-date client records.
Communicate effectively with clients, families, colleagues, and other professionals involved in the care and support of clients.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being and safety of clients and staff.
Work a rotating roster, including early mornings and afternoon/nights.
Qualifications:
Cert III in Disability Support, additional education or training in disability support, social work, or related field preferred, alternatively must have a willingness to enroll in training within six weeks of employment.
Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be available for early morning and night supports with possible weekend work on a rotating roster.
Valid driver's license.
NDIS Worker Check, Working with Children Check,
Current First Aid Certificate, or willing to obtain in first month of employment.
If successful in interview process, copy of current vaccinations must be provided prior to commencement.
