Additional Information:
- This role is Temporary (until January 2025) Part-time, 40/fortnight.
- The internal job title for this role is Customer Co-worker
- The shift times required to work will be spread between 9:00am to 9:00pm.
- As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday).
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
- We require adequate availability, without holidays booked, during the peak trading period (from mid-October to January) for these positions.
- If your application is successful, you may be invited to complete a video screening interview as part of the recruitment process.
- If your application is progressed, you will be invited to attend an in-person interview with the hiring team.
- If you're successful in the recruitment process your contract with IKEA will commence from Monday 14 October 2024.
About this work area
As Customer Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Acting as the friendly face of IKEA by greeting visitors and providing welcoming, effective, and efficient information to customers.
- Driving the IKEA Family Reward Keys loyalty program sign-ups and uptake by highlighting the benefits and rewards to customers.
- Supporting other areas of the Customer team including resolving customer service queries, maintaining shopping tools such as shopping baskets, trolleys, and yellow bags.
- Processing returns and resolving customer guarantee claims, recognising when to escalate to a supervisor.
- Manage cash, card, and finance option payment transactions with accuracy and a friendly demeanour.
- Engaging with customers to understand their needs and providing expert advice on IKEA products and services.
- Recording information accurately in our customer database system so we can act on feedback and continuously make improvements to the customer shopping experience.
- Ensuring customers have a positive final touchpoint during the IKEA shopping journey.
- Building strong relationships with your team and other departments to promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
As a Customer Co-worker you are or have:
- Passionate about securing a positive and seamless customer experience through utilising your strong customer service skills by interacting with and helping customers consistently.
- Able to remain calm when faced with challenging situations and are pro-active to find solutions.
- Able to comfortably interact with customers in a polite and friendly manner whilst having a ‘Togetherness’ mindset.
- Able to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems.
- Comfortable with on-the-job physical activity and repetitive movements.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and basic computer and systems literacy.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing or retail environment is preferred.
