ABOUT THE ROLE
The Club Development Lead is responsible for supporting and developing community football clubs across the NT to ensure clubs have strong governance, structure, are financially secure and sustainable. The role also provides leadership support to the Sustainability Manager and the broader Community Football Team. The role is crucial in managing risk, building capability, and enhancing the overall quality of community club environments.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and deliver relevant and innovative training programs for NT community football clubs.
- Support clubs in accessing tools and resources via the AFL’s volunteer support platform, Club Help and application of these resources in NT club environments
- Support the implementation and monitoring of holistic club strategic, business, and operational plans covering management/governance, coaching/programs, and facility development
- Proactively identify potential risks for community clubs and implement preventative actions.
- Support the Sustainability Manager NT in driving and managing the development and execution of key community football projects and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clubs and associations to influence, adopt and drive change.
- Manage license agreement requirements for NTFL Clubs and assist corporate team to ensure funding targets are met with club program delivery.
- Contribute to key projects within and outside of core role.
- Support and contribute to the success of the broader team.
OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER
Core Competencies:
- Degree in related field (e.g., Accounting, Commerce, Business, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
- Excellent relationship, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- 3-5 years’ experience in strategic planning and community development activities and tasks.
- Experience in Community Football Club or volunteer environments and understanding of what it takes them to be sustainable and successful.
- Experience in leadership, project management, or leading community or volunteer programs.
- Ability to identify problems and provide quality solutions.
- Demonstrated administration skills with a high level of attention to detail, planning & organization.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to change, remain effective and calm when faced with changing tasks, responsibilities, or people.
- Available to work weekends to attend matches and support club enquiries.
- Valid Working with Children Check – OCHRE Card.
