Introduction:
About the Care Worker (Personal Care) position
Care Workers support independence for older people by providing high quality assistance with personal care to support participants with activities of daily living that help them maintain appropriate standards of hygiene and grooming including time limited services to support wellness and reablement goals.
The incumbent will also provide high quality individual social support and assistance with domestic chores to support participants to maintain their capacity to manage everyday activities in a safe, secure and healthy home environment.
A Care Worker at CRCS demonstrates qualities of care, respect, honesty, optimism and resilience. CRCS Care Workers respect the cultural, spiritual, identity, diversity and choices of older people and will ensure that through a high level of work competence and excellent interpersonal skills, the goals of older people are achieved.
There are 2 part time ongoing positions currently available. The role will be based at Trevor Pearcy House, Bruce. This role will be required to work from other locations and participant’s premises.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Personal Care: eating, bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, getting in and out of bed, moving about the house etc.
Domestic Assistance: bill paying (unaccompanied), clothes washing and ironing, dishwashing, help with meal preparation etc.
Individual Social Support: assisting the person through accompanied shopping, bill-paying, attendance at appointments, accompanied activities relevant to each participant as required.
Social support provided to the participant in a group-based environment at, or from a fixed base facility away from their residence, which is considered Social Support Group.
Additional requirements for the role:
First Aid and CPR Certification
Certificate III in Aged/Community Care or equivalent or working towards.
Some lifting and bending will be required when providing Personal Care and Domestic Assistance.
CRCS employees must hold a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration and have this with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.
CRCS employees are required to undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may affect their eligibility to work or performing the inherent requirements of their position.
Current Driver’s Licence and access to a registered, comprehensively insured motor vehicle for work related purposes.
