About the roles
The Business Capabilities Coordinator (BCC) and Business Capabilities Advisor (BCA) are required to support and lead members in the Branch. This includes supporting business relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external to ACIC.
The Coordinator and Advisor are responsible for supporting and implementing initiatives, projects and systems, to build and sustain a high level of service for our business partners related to capabilities.
APS5 Business Capabilities Coordinator (BCC) Key responsibilities:
- Act as a key contact point for routine stakeholder communication.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders concerning business services including:
- assisting with and managing the defects and enhancements across business systems, and
- Building stakeholder understanding of the investment and planning cycle to enhance ACIC’s capabilities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of effective standards and processes to ensure the ongoing delivery of critical business service delivery operations.
- Assist with embedding continuous improvement in service delivery through planning, analysis and reporting.
- Assist clients to prepare for the adoption and use of new solutions, processes and/or systems, which will include preparing and/or assisting with the development of key communication and change management.
- Provide Secretariat services for stakeholders and system user groups.
- Perform general administration support activities as required.
APS6 Business Capabilities Advisor (BCA) Key responsibilities:
- Act as a key contact point for routine stakeholder communication.

- Building stakeholder understanding of the investment and planning cycle to enhance ACIC’s capabilities.
- Develop and implement effective standards and processes to ensure the ongoing delivery of critical business service delivery operations.
- Embed continuous improvement in service delivery through planning, analysis and reporting.
- Assist clients to prepare for the adoption and use of new solutions, processes and/or systems, which will include preparing and/or assisting with the development of key communication and change management.
- Provide Secretariat services for stakeholders and system user groups.
- Assist business managers with the development of briefs, materials and reports.
- Leading a small team to support stakeholders and implement improvements.
Our ideal candidate
To be successful in the roles, you will demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders through high level verbal and written communication.
- Assist in identifying, developing and implementing continuous improvement of business processes, to ensure efficient and effective business operations.
- Ability to coordinate and support secretariat responsibilities to support stakeholders’ meetings and committees.
- Ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive workplace culture within the Agency.
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft applications and the ability to quickly learn new applications.
To be considered at the APS Level 6, you will also:
- Demonstrate experience in identifying, developing and implementing continuous improvement of business processes, to ensure efficient and effective business operations.
- Ability to lead a team to effectively plan and prioritise workload to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to influence collaboratively while contributing to create a positive workplace culture within the Agency.

- Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
- Security Clearance - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
