The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting the Royal Commission Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide Implementation Taskforce, which has been established to lead Defence’s response to the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide Final Report and recommendations.
This role is part of the Information Compliance Directorate, responsible for the management of Taskforce information through a collection of capabilities delivered through people, processes and technology to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability, quality and security of our information and data assets throughout their lifecycle.
We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled, and client-focused professional who has strong stakeholder skills, experience in system management and administrator functions, and is familiar with records management processes and translating policy in to good practice.
The System Support Officer (SSO) must have experience in Microsoft Visio, Customer Relationship Management Dynamics, electronic management systems and Business Management Systems.
An APS 6 SSO will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise in relation to complex or sensitive issues, with the need to understand how to map business processes. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
They will exercise both initiative and judgement in the application of practices and procedures. They will provide detailed technical and professional advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development
High level writing skill are required and be capable of drafting documents for the Assistant Director, with minimal change required. They work as a team to achieve the work unit outcomes and will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
Within Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide Implementation Taskforce APS 6 System Support Officer will be responsible for following deliverables:
The effective coordination of work- flows into and across the Taskforce taking into account agreed priorities and KPIs.
Ability to obtain, or formulate, business rules and requirements from Taskforce members and convert them into process artefacts.
Experience, or ability to learn and understand) business modelling concepts, tools, and techniques – Microsoft CRM Dynamics, Visio and BMS.
Facilitate administration changes, such as access requests, input data changes, general maintenance.
Facilitate Taskforce member awareness and increased utility of the BMS.
High attention to detail, with ability to conduct internal coordination activities.
Effective engagement with internal clients and external stakeholders to support the section’s business objectives.
Experience with electronic management systems, sentencing and records management processes.
About our Team
Information Compliance is responsible for undertaking planning to ensure the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide Implementation Taskforce remains fit for purpose and Defence has options beyond the delivery of the Royal Commission final report. The Taskforce continues to capture observations, identify lessons and apply a continual improvement approach, in addition to reporting on performance metrics and the effectiveness of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide Implementation Taskforce. The Directorate also manages security, risk and business continuity for the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide Implementation Taskforce assurance activities to ensure compliance with legislation and Defence policy.
