After Hours Support Worker

About the role:
This permanent opportunity based in Canberra, ACT, offers a unique position within the Mac Killop National After-Hours Services Unit. As a key member, you'll play a crucial role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for young individuals, supporting their growth and well-being.
The position involves an alternating fortnight roster with shifts in the 1st fortnight from 9pm/10pm to 7am and in the 2nd fortnight from 5pm to 2/3am, including weekend work every 2nd weekend.
Key Responsibilities:
You'll be instrumental in guiding young people, developing independent living skills, and ensuring their rights are protected. Your commitment extends to maintaining connections with significant people and places in their lives, fostering positive identity development, and involving them in decision-making processes. Your 'Roving' responsibilities across Residential units will provide a diverse experience, while meticulous record-keeping and client feedback processes enhance the quality of care.
Key Selection Criteria:
To succeed, bring your previous experience in youth services or residential care, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to confidentiality and organisational values. Availability for after-hours responsibilities is essential.

Requirements:

Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by Mac Killop);
Valid Employee Working with Vulnerable People Check;
Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check

Please note successful applicant will need to undergo CYPS check. Mac Killop can assist successful candidates with their application.
