Your role will be pivotal in providing high-quality therapeutic support to young people with complex needs, both in their homes and within the community. This position is focused on supporting young individuals who require specialised, intensive care beyond what foster care can provide. Your responsibilities will include addressing their emotional, social, and behavioral needs to help maintain stability in their care arrangements. About You: We are looking for compassionate and skilled individuals who can establish safe, supportive relationships with adolescents. Our ideal candidates are those who make our clients feel secure and who stay calm and composed under stress, making thoughtful decisions without reacting impulsively. Our clients respond best to individuals with a confident yet calm demeanor. Their interests include football, gaming, and cars. Ideal candidates will possess:
Experience: Proven track record working with vulnerable children and adolescents
Expertise: Skilled in trauma-informed care
Attributes: Motivated, passionate, resilient, and capable of inspiring and connecting with young people
Skills: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, think on your feet, and make thoughtful decisions
Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including Morning, Afternoon, Evenings, Sleepovers and Active nights including Weekends
Attitude: Positive, friendly, and capable of fostering trust and connection
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Requirements: To be eligible for this role, you must possess:
Minimum qualification Cert IV in relevant industry
Valid and current Driver's License
Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by Mac Killop)
Valid Employee Working with Vulnerable People Check
Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (Mac Killop can assist successful candidates with their application)
Key Selection Criteria: To excel in this role, you should possess the following:
Proven ability to work with young people facing social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties
Ability to work with those who have experienced significant trauma and adversity.
Track record of following case plans, behaviour support plans, and safety plans for young people with complex needs, including challenging behaviour.
