Primary objective
Provide a high level of administrative and executive support to members of the Professional Standards Command (PSC) including
the Commander, ensuring all administrative duties within the Command are undertaken in a timely and professional manner.
Context statement
The PSC is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the overall ethical health of the NT Police. These responsibilities range from
induction training of all new recruits in Codes of Conduct and Ethics and promotional courses, to dealing with all complaints against
police and internal disciplinary matters. Given the highly sensitive matters the Command manages, a high level of integrity,
diplomacy, tact and utmost confidentiality is required.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide a high level of executive and administrative support to members of the Professional Standards Command (PSC)
including the Commander, ensuring all administrative duties within the Command are undertaken in a timely and professional
manner.
2. Provide high level secretarial support including minute taking, drafting correspondence and logistical support to the
Commander and management team of PSC.
3. Execute a range of administrative duties including scanning and filing using TRM and IAPRO, cleansing and quality control of
IAPRO data, compilation of workplace communications and other administrative tasks as required.
4. Purchasing of stationary and other supplies required for the day-to-day running of the Command.
5. Maintain and manage access to the building by members of PSC as well as Contactors who are required to attend on site.
6. Maintain and manage registers held within PSC including IT assets.
7. Accurately process and record financial transactions for the Command.
8. Liaise in a discreet and confidential manner with other Police Command members and other stakeholders as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven successful experience in providing administrative support with a high attention to detail, sound judgement, the ability
to maintain confidentiality and a clear understanding of the need for tact and diplomacy.
2. Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate
professionally and effectively whilst maintaining strict confidentiality with sensitive issues.
3. Ability to prioritise workload, and work under pressure whilst exercising initiative and flexibility in a team environment with
minimal supervision.
4. Experience entering accurate and timely data through a range of computer programs.
5. Sound knowledge and experience in computer systems, records management and major business systems, or the ability to
obtain quickly.
6. Hold a current NT Driver’s license.
