About the Role:
Acute Allied Health Services (AAHS) Physiotherapy provides services to a range of clients in acute inpatient and specialised outpatient settings predominately at Canberra Hospital Our physiotherapists work closely with patients, carers, referrers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve safe, timely, high quality patient care.
AAHS Physiotherapy has 2 FTE Acute Clinical Educator positions. The clinical educators (CEs) have a key role in delivering high quality patient centered care through teaching, training and education of students and staff. The CEs are pivotal to the successful coordination, planning and delivery of acute student placements from University of Canberra and other university partners with clinical staff. The CEs work collaboratively with senior leadership team and senior clinicians to facilitate and provide staff with learning opportunities, formal supervision and further acquisition of knowledge, skills and clinical reasoning.
The CEs are integral members of the Department’s senior physiotherapy leadership team and carry designated portfolio responsibilities as part of the role. Day to day support, clinical supervision, and professional development is provided through the manager, senior leadership team and educator peers, formal clinical supervision arrangements, and informal and formal professional development opportunities.
A merit list may be used to fill any temporary/permanent full time/ part time clinical educator vacancies within the next 12 months.
