Community Outreach Advocates (COA) is seeking a dedicated and organized Youth Program Assistant to support our youth programs. The Youth Program Assistant will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, engaging with youth participants, and assisting with program logistics and office management. Key Responsibilities: Office Management:
Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
Greet visitors, participants, and community members, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
Maintain a clean, organized office space, including managing supplies and office snack bar.
Keep the snack bar stocked with healthy snacks and beverages, ensuring cleanliness and order.
Supervision & Engagement:
Supervise and support youth participants during after-school hangouts and study hall sessions.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for youth.
Administrative Support:
Schedule intake interviews, meetings, and other program-related appointments for the Program Manager.
Assist with creating marketing and meeting materials, ensuring they are up-to-date and reflective of program goals.
Event Planning & Support:
Set up for meetings, workshops, and community events, ensuring all materials and equipment are prepared.
Serve refreshments during meetings and events, providing hospitality as needed.
Clean up and break down after events, ensuring the space is returned to its original condition.
Additional Duties:
Assist in preparing reports, program updates, and any other documentation as required.
Support program-related tasks and special projects as assigned by the Program Manager.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or experience in youth programs preferred.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with youth and create an engaging, supportive environment.
Strong ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Comfortable working with diverse populations and committed to community service.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and engage in activities that may require standing, walking, and setting up for events.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 per week Schedule:
4 hour shift
After school
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
