The Tarrant to & Through (T3) Partnership aims to increase postsecondary credentials and workforce success for Tarrant County students. Currently, only 39% of adults have an associate degree or higher, despite 65% of jobs requiring post-secondary education. T3 provides resources, financial assistance, and opportunities to students and families, equipping them for successful careers. Through collaboration with various organizations, we strive for inclusive pathways to education. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Workforce College Career Coach role at Tarrant To & Through (T3) Partnership is focused on supporting select college students at various institutions of higher education in Tarrant County. The primary goal of this position is to provide students with the guidance and resources they need to navigate their educational journey, persist through the challenges, and achieve their academic and career goals. By working with students, families, and other community organizations, Career Coaches help to increase awareness of T3 initiatives, promote career readiness, and empower students to make informed decisions about their future. They also collect and analyze data to inform program evaluation and decision making and collaborate with campus administrators and career center personnel to ensure that students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed and launch their desired career upon graduation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Building Strong Partnerships and T3 Awareness (30%)
- Forge and sustain strong, trusting relationships with students, campus staff, and community groups to ensure seamless collaboration and support for students' career endeavors.
- Increase awareness of T3 initiatives among students, families, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with partner organizations to synchronize support services and resources for students.
- Engage families in conversations about post-secondary pathways and furnish information on available resources.
- Host a minimum of two student engagement events annually to advocate T3 initiatives and bolster student agency.
College, Career, and Military Readiness Pathway Awareness (30%)
- Demonstrate expertise in College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) indicators and how they can be achieved, including State Outcome Bonuses (HB3).
- Conduct group advising sessions to facilitate students' exploration of their interests, strengths, and aspirations.
- Proficiency in understanding job readiness skills and workforce industry trends.
- Thorough understanding and ability to communicate weighted and un-weighted grade point average calculations and their significance.
- Collaborate with campus advisors and administrators to support durable skills prep.
- Conduct workshops to enlighten families and students on career pathway opportunities.
- Introduce and coach students on utilizing exploration tools and resources like T3's P2C, Texas Reality Check, and Big Future to aid in future planning.
Student Support and Monitoring (40%)
- Advocate for students' needs, empowering them and their parents to navigate collegiate career systems effectively.
- Promote and uphold a culture of Career awareness and durable skills preparation on campus.
- Maintain records of interactions, progress, and outcomes using Salesforce, creating reports on student engagement for program evaluation and decision-making.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 1+ years of professional experience in College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) initiatives within a K-12 setting.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Knowledge of local and national workforce trends and policies.
- Experience in data monitoring and data-informed decision-making.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position will require frequent travel throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and surrounding suburbs.
