As the
Work Experience Clerk/Aide,
you will collaborate with several staff at E. H. Gentry Facility to support the Joe Tom Armbrester Agricultural Center and Work Experience areas including Gentry Manufacturing Training, Modern Manufacturing, Pre-HVAC Fabrication, Automotive, Pre-Construction and Woodshop, AIDB Threads and future Work Experience programs developed. In this role you will perform various clerical duties such as preparing payroll, reviewing travel forms, processing purchase requisitions, maintaining CARF documentation, and compiling data for reports. This position will also assist with classroom instruction, transportation, and other work experience related tasks. The Work Experience Clerk/Aide will work closely with the Work Experience staff, instructors, and program administrators to promote student/client outcomes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), Google G-Suite including Calendar, Sheets, Docs and Drive
- Experience in planning and/or coordinating events, programs, or activities
- Willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, and weekends
- Ability to take initiative, anticipate problems, follow through and meet established deadlines.
- Ability to physically assist students as needed in various work experience areas
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience of working with individuals with vision and/or hearing differences.
- Semester hours in Rehabilitation, Education, Special Education, Human Services, Human Resources, Business, Marketing, or related Career & Technical fields.
POSITION RESPONSIBLILITIESS
- Provide clerical and instructional support to Work Experience areas.
- Coordinate Adult Education attendances in collaboration with case managers.
- Assist in coordinating transportation for students to work experience placement sites, field trips, and serve as a chaperone as needed.
- Assist instructors and staff as needed including checking papers, recording information, filing, typing, delivering, making copies, scanning, laminating and performing other duties as assigned.
- Disseminate information received to staff and/or students as appropriate.
- Assist with gathering and compiling monthly progress and data reports for review.
- Assist with maintaining a complete inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Coordinate bulletin board in Work Experience buildings.
- Coordinate class coverages and monitor common area.
- Provide 1-on-1 instructional support to students as needed.
- Assist instructors and staff in planning and preparation of daily activities.
- Assist with sales orders, requisitions, purchase orders, and payroll processes.
- Help to maintain CARF documentation relating to Work Experience.
- Complete fire, tornado, and intruder drill reports in a timely manner for each building in Work Experience.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- May be required to have a current Alabama Driver License and to be able to be covered by the AIDB insurance carrier
- Must complete AIDB training on Deafness, Blindness, Visual Impairments, Deaf Blindness and Multiple Disabilities within first twelve (12) months of employment
- Must obtain a sign language proficiency level of SURVIVAL within the first twelve (12) months, SURVIVAL PLUS within the first twenty-four (24) months and INTERMEDIATE within the first thirty-six (36) months of employment
- Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB
SALARY: $15.25 - $17.89 Scale C5 Rank 31 (High School/GED)
$15.69 - $18.30 Scale C5 Rank 32 (30 Semester Hours)
$16.75 - $19.79 Scale C5 Rank 35 (60 Semester Hours)
