Production Worker

Job Summary:
Morton Salt's Silver Springs, NY location has immediate opening for a production worker. The right individual will be responsible for a variety of tasks, on varying shifts as required. These positions frequently demand considerable manual exertion.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate processing equipment for the production of salt.
Operate bagging or packaging equipment to maintain desired output and operating standards.
Fill, palletize, and haul product to assigned storage.
Perform adjustments and minor repairs to maintain production activities.
General cleaning in production and warehouse buildings.
May be required to fill-in as a machine operator.
Assist in start-ups and shutdowns.
Required to perform utility work as assigned.
Responsible for following production schedules and accurately reporting operational records.
Assist in assuring the line is supplied with desired salt grades.
Responsible for product quality and maximum output.
Will at all times be alert to safety conditions and will strictly adhere to all safety requirements, quality control guidelines, environmental policies/procedures and other plant policies.
Be familiar with Food & Safety and Quality programs within the plant.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
Ability to operate a powered industrial vehicle.
Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
Must be able to work all shifts in a 24/7 environment.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work any shift and any schedule.
Constant lifting up to 65 lbs., rapid work speed, standing, and grasping.
Frequent bending, carrying and pulling up to 65 lbs., twisting, reaching, feeling, and finger movement.
Frequent high acuity hearing and depth perception.
Constant noise 80d B and over.
Frequent vibration, dryness, dust, and mechanical hazards.
Varied temperature due to weather conditions.
Eye protection, hearing protection, head covering, and foot protection required.

Starting rate of $23.32, increasing to $27.06 upon completion of a 90-day probationary period.
