Veterinary Assistant
*Job Summary*
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of animals under their care. Your primary responsibilities will involve assisting with various tasks related to animal care and medical procedures.
*Responsibilities*
- Provide assistance during veterinary examinations and procedures
- Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
- Assist with laboratory procedures and diagnostic tests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary facility
- Monitor and provide basic care for hospitalized animals
- Administer medications as directed by veterinarians
- Assist with client education on topics such as pet nutrition and medication administration
*Skills*
- Experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field
- Proficiency in dog handling and understanding animal behavior
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control measures
- Monitoring Anesthesia, drawing blood, placing iv catheters, etc
- Ability to assist in veterinary critical care situations
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.28 - $17.79 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
