Service Technician
Tuscaloosa CDJR is searching for a used car technician. Smith Auto Group (SAG) has been in business since 1938, and presently operates ten stores in five states, with significant additional growth planned. We are searching for talented and self-motivated individuals with a demonstrated work ethic to join our team.
Used car technician job duties include inspecting, diagnosing, and performing requested maintenance and repairs to company owned vehicles, performing used car and safety inspections, and relaying information about the condition of a vehicle to a service advisor and/or manager.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Used car technician job duties include inspecting, diagnosing, and performing requested maintenance and repairs to company owned vehicles, performing used car and safety inspections, and relaying information about the condition of a vehicle to a service advisor and/or manager.
- Communicate with the Internal Advisor and/or Service Manager to determine the scope of work desired, while acknowledging waiting customers
- Perform a comprehensive used vehicle inspection, and advise if services are recommended, or if repairs are needed.
- Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Perform engine, transmission, steering, coolant, electrical and braking system maintenance and repairs.
- Perform oil changes and lubrication work and check all filters.
- Perform diagnostics to determine what repairs are necessary.
- High School or Technical School diploma.
- Valid driver license and clean driving record.
- One or more years of previous OEM automotive technician experience preferred but not required.
