Set up and operate bat/ball tracking technology and baseball technology. This will be a Synergy internship.
Assist with high frame rate video captures of hitters and pitchers.
Manage data and collection process and assist with interpretation and upload through in-house portal.
Track every game pitch-by-pitch in the system.
Advanced:
Collaborate with coaching staff to monitor player goals and player progress.
Conduct research and analysis on opposing players, both at the request of staff and independently.
Use internal system tools to assist such as coding languages.
Communicate research and analyzed data in a simple and concise manner to Nighthawks field staff, players, and other Player Development staff.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Prior experience working for college baseball program team preferred.
Experience with coding languages required (R, Python, etc.)
Prior baseball/softball playing experience preferred.
Ability to understand and pick up player/game situational tendencies.
Able to identify pitch types and common baseball plays.
Demonstrated ability and understanding of biomechanics, pitching or hitting analysis, or sports science.
Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
Preferred to have working knowledge of commonly used video programs and player development technologies such as Synergy, Trackman, BATS, Inside Edge, Edgertronics, or handheld camcorders, Rapsodo, Blast Motion bat sensors, etc.
Knowledge of video storage, editing, production, formats, streaming, sharing, and frame rates preferred.
Excellent organizational skills, work ethic, and attention to detail.
