Description: The purpose of this Measurement Specialist position is for assisting with Measurement functions that would include installing, programming, investigating and repairing AMI related issues on pressure sets and daily read customers. This position will also be responsible for operating a company vehicle covering the entire Nicor territory and maintaining an appropriate inventory of tools, PPE and job-related materials. Functional Expertise:
AMI installation & maintenance on pressure sets
Electronic Volume Corrector Programming
Terminate Signal Wiring
Confirm voltage, continuity & pulses using a multi-meter
Mount brackets & terminal boxes on various structures
Complete tasks in gaseous environments
Business Acumen:
Ability to self- prioritize and organize daily work assignments
Ability to adhere to tasks and complete them in a timely manner
Engagement:
Participates in department discussions and consistently contributes
Interfaces well within the department and other Southern Company Gas departments
Professionally and effectively communicates with customers on a face-to-face basis
Driving Results:
Execute departmental metrics.
Qualifications:
High school or GED required
Associates or 2-year technical degree preferred
2+ years’ experience working mechanical and/or electrical position preferred
Specific Skills:
Proficient in addition, subtraction, multiplication, division & fractions
Proficient use of hand tools
Preferred:
Hands on electrical experience
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 70lbs
Ability to work outdoors in all conditions
Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for prolonged amount of time
Ability to operate company vehicle for long periods of time
Ability to twist, push, and pull heavy equipment and/or materials
