*Job Summary* We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team as a Medication Assistant (MAC) Instructor. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective administration of medications to patients, while also providing support in various healthcare settings. This position requires a strong understanding of medication protocols, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. *Responsibilities* - Instruct students in the administration of medications to patients as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols. - Monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions following medication administration. - Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient responses. - Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to address any concerns regarding patient care. - Educate patients and their families about medication regimens, potential side effects, and proper usage. - Assist in infection control measures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. - Participate in training sessions related to medication administration and other relevant topics. - Support the healthcare team in various tasks as needed, including assisting with EMR documentation. *Requirements* - Proven experience in medication administration within a healthcare setting is preferred. - Experience administering oral, inhaled, injected, nebulized medications and use of the EMR/MAR - Experience working with adults in a geriatric settings is desirable. - Knowledge of infection control practices and protocols is essential. - Previous experience in a Long-Term Health Care setting is beneficial. - Ability to work effectively within a teaching environment is preferred. - Strong communication skills and the ability to educate patients effectively. - Must possess relevant licensure as required by state regulations.
