RESIDENTIAL AIDE MANAGER

SUMMARY
The Residential Aide Manager supervises the Residential Aide staff and coordinates consumer activities. The position requires that the individual serve as part of the clinical therapeutic team to provide comprehensive services to consumers and their children. The position functions include but are not limited to personnel management, staff scheduling, and assistance to consumers to ensure a therapeutic environment in which productive, meaningful, and culturally appropriate services can be provided.

JOB DUTIES
  • Oversees day-to-day operations of assigned components.
  • Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, and annual reports in a timely and accurate manner as required.
  • Maintains consumer confidentiality.
  • Attends all staff meetings, training meetings, and in-service meetings.
  • Maintains CPR/First Aid and Respect training yearly.
  • The incumbent of this position must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and conflicting deadlines. The incumbent shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors, and consumers.
  • Assist with monitoring of consumers on and off the unit. Facilitates groups as needed within the scope of facilities or knowledge.
  • Schedules, supervises, and evaluates residential aides.
  • Conducts orientation and training for all new RA and Cook staff members on relevant policies and procedures, including vehicle, emergency, universal precautions, and health and safety rules.
  • Provides file documentation following established standards, and submits reports (i.e., required
  • Plans and assists with social and recreational activities scheduled during shift, in cooperation with the treatment team/staff.
  • Monitoring and approving staff timesheets, including overtime documentation.
  • Trains and/or assists with consumer random drug testing: urine analysis, breathalyzer, and mouth swabs.
  • Attends clinical case staffing and functions as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Completes progress notes as needed in EHR.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
  • Familiarity with human resources policies and procedures.
  • Ability to report to work on time.
  • Knowledge of customer service concepts and practices.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to diverse cultures and lifestyles.
  • Skill in operating computers utilizing a variety of computer software.
  • Skill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meeting deadlines.
  • Skills in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with teams.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with the ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to establish appropriate task priorities and respond to emergencies.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and CARF, or Federal standards/codes for building, fire, and safety.
  • Knowledge of adolescent development and substance abuse treatment.
  • Knowledge of the current state of Alaska Community Care Licensing regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)
  • Associate’s degree in a related field, and
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with residential consumers.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a substance abuse treatment facility.
  • Valid Alaska Driver License.
  • For company insurance purposes, must be 25 years of age.
  • Ability to obtain State of Alaska Substance Abuse Counselor Technician certification within one (1) year of hire.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required within (30) days of hire.
  • A combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may substitute for degree requirements.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience working with residential consumers, two (2) years of supervisory experience, and four (4) years of experience in a substance abuse treatment facility.
Starting wage: $25.31 per hour, DOE
