Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Psychiatric Emergency Department (Psych ED). As an RN in our Psych ED, you will provide high-quality patient care to individuals in crisis, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to address their physical and mental health needs.
Hours: Full-time (36 hours weekly), day shift required

Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Upon hire: Alaska Registered Nurse License
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- 1 year of nursing experience in Psych ED or related behavioral nursing experience (such as inpatient psychiatric nursing, crisis intervention, or substance abuse treatment)
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert nursing care to patients in the Psych ED, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, considering physical, emotional, and social needs
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition, taking appropriate action when necessary
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and departmental processes
