Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Manager to join our manufacturing team. The Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality of production and adherence to quality standards, including maintaining ISO certifications, working with external inspectors, and managing quality-related data and documentation. The ideal candidate will have expertise in interpreting blueprints, inspecting completed jobs, and collaborating with customers and vendors to resolve quality concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate and compliant production processes.
- Job Inspection: Inspect completed jobs for quality and accuracy. Add inspection results and relevant information to the company’s computer database to maintain accurate records.
- Collaboration with External Inspectors: Work closely with outside source inspectors, including those from Pratt and Whitney, to ensure third-party inspections are conducted accurately and meet all required standards.
- Analyze Job Specifications: Review incoming jobs and purchase orders to identify key quality information, such as material specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements, ensuring that production meets these standards.
- Customer Communication: Contact customers regarding potential print errors or discrepancies, working to resolve any issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- ISO Applications and Maintenance: Oversee the application and maintenance of ISO standards and procedures within the company. Ensure compliance with ISO certifications through audits, training, and process improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance product quality, streamline operations, and reduce defects or errors.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of inspections, audits, and corrective actions. Prepare reports on quality performance for management review.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, engineering, and management to communicate quality standards and ensure continuous compliance throughout the manufacturing process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, engineering drawings, and industry standards.
- Experience working with external inspectors, preferably with major manufacturers (e.g., Pratt and Whitney).
- In-depth understanding of ISO standards, certification processes, and quality management systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer and vendor interactions.
- Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Working Conditions:
- This position may involve working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, tools, and varying temperatures.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) must be worn as required.
- Shift hours may vary depending on the company's needs.
Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
