Under direct supervision, this position performs unskilled manual labor in collection and disposal of refuse and the collection and processing of recyclable materials; performs related work as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collects refuse on assigned daily route and places in collection vehicle.
Collects and processes recyclable materials.
Assists in maintaining clean vehicles and building as assigned to Division, including recycling center.
Assists in performing minor repairs and maintenance on collection vehicle.
Other duties as assigned.

Demonstrates willingness to undertake duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
No previous work experience requirements.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or general education development (GED) certificate preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License at time of hire. Can understand oral and written instructions. Pay increase available upon obtaining Class A CDL. Training provided by employer. Minimum Class B CDL expected to be completed within first year of hire. Must be capable of working periodic overtime and available to work on-call as scheduled.
