Job Title: Prevention Outreach Coordinator (part-time)
Reports To: Community Awareness and Prevention Director

The National Children's Advocacy Center (NCAC) is seeking a part-time Prevention Outreach Coordinator who will provide child sexual abuse prevention and safety education programs for adults.

About the role:
As a member of our team in Huntsville, AL, you will coordinate, conduct, and promote Stewards of Children classes in Madison County and throughout the State of Alabama. Stewards of Children is a nationally recognized, evidence-based training program that educates adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. To present the training, a person must complete an 8-hour training to become an authorized facilitator. Stewards of Children classes are provided virtually or in person during regular business hours, with occasional evenings and weekends.

A typical day may include:
  • Scheduling and presenting training classes virtually or in person
  • Responding appropriately to any disclosures of child abuse and neglect
  • Developing marketing plans and materials
  • Creating targeted email marketing
  • Maintaining records and assisting in compiling reports for grants and other purposes
  • Writing, developing, and strategizing digital content
  • Proposing, researching, and creating infographics and fact sheets
  • Assisting with event planning and other community education and training activities

  • Are flexible and available to conduct training at times convenient for community organizations, including occasional evening and weekend hours

  • Can multi-task and meet hard deadlines
  • Work well independently, with a willingness to ask for help when needed
  • Have excellent attendance and promptness
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Health, Education, Psychology, Marketing, Communications, or related human services/health field
  • Minimum of one year of experience with public speaking or conducting training classes for adults
  • Minimum of one year of digital media experience or an equivalent combination of education and skills
  • Prefer knowledge and work experience in child abuse prevention or intervention, or closely related public health or social work knowledge and experience
  • Prefer experience in launching and marketing outreach programs
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is highly preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have a valid driver's license, excellent driving record, dependable transportation, and current vehicle liability insurance.

Location and Hours
This position will work an average of 14 hours per week on-site at our Huntsville, AL office. Our standard business hours are 8:30 - 5:00, Monday through Friday. The weekly schedule may vary, with occasional evening and weekend hours.
