Job Summary The overall objective and purpose of the Overnight Loss Prevention Officer is to provide a safe and secure environment for both our employee's and our guests. The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for conducting routine detailed safety and security inspections and accurately completing safety and security checklists, reports, and other documentation as required. The Loss Prevention Officer will help to ensure the safety and security of both the Rane Culinary Science Center which includes the Laurel Hotel and Spa and also The Hotel at Auburn University and Conference Center. Core Responsibilities Primary responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
Performs all essential functions associated with the position of a Loss Prevention Officer during the overnight shift, as detailed in the Loss Prevention Training Manual.
Acts as the Manager on Duty for the complex during the overnight shift.
Greet and interact with internal and external guests..
Maintain the integrity of the guest's privacy, including confidentiality of personal information.
Routinely walk the interior and exterior of the building and accurately complete daily inspection reports as required.
Direct and coordinate emergency response efforts as required.
Use specified software program to complete detailed tours, inspections, and to document and report any deficiencies found during inspections to the applicable department.
Provide security presence during high profile events or other events, functions, and activities as directed by the Loss Prevention Supervisor.
Review and monitor and maintain CCTV (Camera System) systems as needed.
Complete required tasks and assignments as directed by the Loss Prevention Supervisor.
Secure and document lost and found items according to SOP.
Maintain a neat and organized work area.
Maintain the integrity of company proprietary information and protect company assets
Maintain neat, clean, and professional appearance according to grooming standards set forth by SOP.
Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions during tours and inspections to ensure a prompt response.
Complete accident/incident reports as required.
Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all departments.
Attend required training and meetings as directed by the Loss Prevention Supervisor.
Monitor public areas for unusual activity and potential threats.
Conduct package checks of employees exiting the building.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Ability to listen and communicate effectively with guests and employees.
Ability to stand, walk, and continuously performing essential job functions for an extended period of time.
Ability to remain calm in various situations and use sound judgment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as SOP, Safety Rules, OSHA regulations and Training Manuals
Ability to follow instructions, prioritize and multi-task.
Computer skills and the use of tablet/devices to record inspections, tours, incident reports and other documentation as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or General Education Degree- required
Loss Prevention/Security experience preferred but not required.
Ability to communicate in the English language - required
Certified in CPR - preferred but if not currently CPR certified, certification will be provided.
