The Farmers Market Assistant I supports the Farmers Market Coordinator to supervise daily operations at the Holly Springs Farmers Market. Duties include market set up and break down, answering vendor and market visitor questions, assist with special market activities and events, and other duties as assigned. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Administrative Manager and other full-time staff. Must be able to work flexible hours on Saturdays primarily from 6:30am – 2pm year-round. Position will work approximately 6-10 hours per week (hours per week will fluctuate based on availability and event schedules), involves heavy contact with the public and requires work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions. Seeking applicants with previous customer service, computer, and basic social media experience. Pay range starts at $12.50-$14.50 per hour.
Typical Job Duties:
Assisting the Farmers Market Coordinator as directed.
Closing Ballentine Street for vendor set up.
Moving barricades and cones to direct traffic.
Setting out signage, tents, and tables for market use.
Assist vendors with set up and break down of their tents.
Answer questions and promote the market to visitors.

Physical Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be able to lift heavy items above shoulder height up to 50 pounds frequently, and heavier occasionally; be able to talk, hear, see, and grasp objects, and climb ladders. An employee must be able to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time in outdoor weather all year round.
