Are you looking for a career in Human Resources? Do you love helping people solve problems? Do you get excited about making sure things are done right the first time? If so, then the Personnel Team may be the perfect place for you. Our team provides outstanding service and support to HR Coordinators across the University of Alaska. We focus on employee data and ensuring that things are entered into our HR system correctly and quickly. We work hard and have fun doing it. If this sounds interesting to you, please consider applying for our team.
The Personnel Team has two main areas of responsibility: data integrity and customer service. Our team takes in forms and information from HR Coordinators spread across the University System. We review it for accuracy and compliance, making corrections where we can, and entering the information into Banner. We work very closely with the Payroll Team to ensure that employees are set up to be paid correctly. We also help answer questions from departments on how to get employees set up in Banner, review data, and update resources.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have a great eye for detail, dedication to doing things right, and the ability to ask for help. Our team supports one another, truly working closely as a team every day. You don’t need to have HR experience, but you do need a positive attitude and willingness to learn new things.
Minimum Qualifications:
You’ll need to have at least one year of college in HR, business, communication, or related field; and 1 year of experience performing data entry, general HR or accounting experience, or highly focused customer service. An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
Position Details:
This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 76, based on education and experience.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until a successful candidate is identified.
Review of application materials will begin immediately. Search and selection procedures will be closed when a sufficient and viable number of qualified candidates have been identified.
  • To be eligible for this position, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. Applicants who now or may in the future require visa sponsorship to work in the United States are not eligible.
