Mat-Su College (MSC), in collaboration with the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our dynamic team in the Office of Academic Affairs. In this position your organizational skills and dedication to student success will make a significant impact! In this multifaceted role, you'll play a crucial part in supporting faculty and student achievement, managing student discipline processes, and ensuring compliance with essential regulations. Additionally, you’ll assist in developing community education programs, coordinating course schedules, and addressing registration issues to enhance community engagement, grant writing and workforce development. To thrive in this role, applicants should possess strong organizational and administrative skills, demonstrated through at least three years of progressively responsible office experience. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential for coordinating with faculty and students effectively. Familiarity with course programming, compliance regulations, and HR experience will be advantageous, along with a proven capacity for maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive information. The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and troubleshoot issues will be critical for success in this dynamic and varied position. Minimum Qualifications:
High School graduation and three years progressively responsible office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preference of Associate's degree and three years progressively responsible office/administration experience OR Bachelor's degree and one year responsible office/administration experience. Position Details: This position is located on the Mat-Su College campus in Palmer, Alaska. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.
