Summary of Position:
The Permitting Manager, supporting our Architecture and Engineering departments within all of our business units, you will be responsible for representing Core States Group and its clients while engaging with local permitting authorities. You will provide information regarding compliance to plans and specifications submittals with associated regulatory authorities. You will work mostly independently and support Engineers, Architects and/or Construction professionals in performing key job elements.

You can demonstrate an understanding of architectural, civil, electrical, landscape, planning and structural design processes from schematic design through construction. Responsibilities:
- Act as professional liaison between the company and each agency
- Perform due diligence research at the onset of new projects and prepare reports for Client’s use in developing financial plans and project timelines
- Obtain and manage documents from engineers and architects to facilitate the permit application process
- Review plans for compliance with agency comments and for accuracy
- Coordinate paperwork and applications with outside consultants as necessary
- Prepare and submit applications to various agencies/boards having jurisdiction over required permits and work closely with the municipalities on the status of permits and ensure they are processed in a timely manner
- Produce and maintain schedules for all projects and coordinate with municipalities from approval to final stages of permitting process
- Prepare and maintain production status reports
- Schedule, attend and coordinate meetings, appointments, etc., with architects, engineers, city officials and various departments
- Monitor and create reports, correspondence and narratives utilizing spreadsheets and word documents
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Demonstrate a familiarity with local codes and ordinances
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required. Additional education a plus.
- A minimum of 2+ years of permit coordination and/or project coordination with an engineering, architectural or construction firm.
- Experience with energy projects, commercial development or construction services a plus.
- A general understanding of the development industry is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Monday.com).
- Demonstrated familiarity with local codes and ordinances.
Team:
You will work with a team of Architects, Designers and Engineers. You will report to the Sr. Permitting Manager.
Work Location:
This can either be a remote role or hybrid if located near one of our Core States Group offices located on the east coast. You may be asked to travel at times possibly 5/10% of the time.
