We are currently hiring for Ophthalmic Technicians to join our ever-growing team of professionals who share our focus of great patient care! Experienced Ophthalmic Technicians are preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right individual. Job Responsibilities
Checks condition of patient's eyes by observing pupils, muscles, visual acuity, and extraocular movements
Records medical history, current medications, and confirms purpose of visit
Records all data in the patient's electronic medical record
Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms and ocular medications
Triage phone calls from patients with concerns
Once trained, required skills include: dilation, refraction, pressures, and performing a variety of diagnostic tests including but not limited to; visual fields, OCT, Fundus Camera, Pentacam, IOL master, auto refractor and Specular Microscopy
Provide exceptional customer service to every patient
Experience and Education Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Must possess strong computer skills
One-year related experience – Preferred
Ophthalmic or Optometric Technician Experience – Preferred
COA or COT certification – Preferred, but will consider otherwise qualified candidates with less experience
