Description
gener8tor is seeking a Managing Director to lead a new investment accelerator based in Fargo, ND.
gener8tor runs accelerators and venture capital funds to catalyze community, mentorship, network, conviction and capital to bridge a community’s genius with opportunity. The gener8tor platform includes pre-accelerators, accelerators, corporate programming, conferences and fellowships. gener8tor operates venture capital funds and startup accelerators across 45 cities, 25 states and 3 countries, working with more than 300 startups per year. To date, gener8tor has worked with more than 1,500 startups that have cumulatively gone on to raise more than $2B in follow-on capital and employ more than 11,000 people.
gener8tor’s accelerator programs invest $100K in each of five high-growth startups and provide 12 weeks of mentorship-driven, cohort-based programming.
Responsibilities

Recruit startup applicants and lead the due diligence and selection process for one annual accelerator cohort
Act as the lead mentor for cohort participants and provide continuous support to alumni
Plan logistics, engage with the network, execute the accelerator programs and other related activities
Coordinate and collaborate with gener8tor staff and external partners
Collaborate with other members of the gener8tor team
Assist alumni with ongoing mentor, sponsor and investor relations following the program
Be the #1 cheerleader for the startups and entrepreneurs we work with

Requirements

Entrepreneurial spirit and a self-starter. Experience as a founder, employee in a venture-backed company or in venture capital recommended
Total devotion to North Dakota and the North Dakota startup ecosystem
Collaborative, team-based mindset. You will be working closely with the gener8tor 1889 fund Principal, other Managing Directors, founders and our partners
Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects, responsibilities and external relationships
Willingness to intensively and rapidly dive deeper into the startup and venture capital communities even if already familiar
Flexibility to travel up to 25%, work some nights and weekends
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A “no job is beneath me” mentality
