Machine Learning Data Scientist - (21676)
DESCRIPTION
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Machine Learning Data Scientist to work in our AI Data and Visualization department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our C3 facility with every other Friday off. Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position.
We apply data science, data engineering, computer programming, and AIML models to solve problems related to nuclear energy and energy security. You will perform research and development to conceptualize and employ novel solutions that advance state-of-the-art energy security, nuclear materials, and fuels. You will work with teams in multiple disciplines including 3D visualization, cybersecurity, materials science, high performance computing, physics, engineering, and more.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead data science research and analysis projects, providing oversight and technical leadership
- Identify meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interpret and communicate findings from analysis and experiments to researchers, and program managers.
- Develop and maintain software to help support researchers and program managers. This includes developing, testing, and deploying software code to development, staging and production environments.
- Develop and integrate AI/ML solutions and data analytics expertise with INL High Performance Computing resources.
- Be a thoughtful leader and strong communicator with senior leaders, sponsors, and other team members.
- Conduct facilitation sessions to gather requirements.
- Work with mission and research teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments.
- You will report to the Department Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- Level 3: Bachelor’s and 5 years of relevant experience. Master’s and 2 years of experience. Ph D and 2 years of experience. Acceptable degrees are data science, engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, autonomy, artificial intelligence, or related technical discipline
- Level 4: Bachelor’s and 9 years of relevant experience. Master’s and 6 years of experience. Ph D and 4 years of experience. Acceptable degrees are data science, engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics, autonomy, artificial intelligence, or related technical discipline.
- Experience applying AIML to cybersecurity in network traffic analysis or natural language processing
- Experience developing visualizations related to analytics to help communicate results
- Specific skills: Project management, data analytics & visualization, statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning, Python, Pandas, Num Py, SKLearn, Pytorch & Keras, Tensorflow, C#, Dot Net Core, SQL, Postgres, My SQL, Git, Docker
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Job Information:
- The pay range for this position is Level 450 ($91,008 -186,588) / Level 460 ($109,260 - $223,908). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
