Under the close supervision of the Library Director or designee, performs routine circulation activities involving files, library materials and equipment using library computer systems. Registers and updates files of borrowers, checks status of accounts using the library’s information system. Accepts payments for fines and fees, shelves library materials, mends damaged materials as necessary, and inspects bookshelves to insure books are in proper order. Utilize public access computers to search for information. Answers telephone and responds to public inquiry. Assists customers in finding library materials such as books, DVD’s and CD’s. Assists with planning, coordination and presentation of library programs and outreach activities. Under supervision, may present program to the public which includes, but not limited to children and young adults. Maybe assigned to the Main Library and/or the Children’s Library. Enters necessary information into the library systems. Performs other related duties as assigned. Evening and weekend hours are required.
