Kit Builder
Reports to: Night Shift Area Coordinator
Department: Truss
Job Status: Full-Time / Hourly
Mobility Profile: On Location
Position Summary: The Kit Builder’s primary responsibility is to build roof dormer kits for Clayton Home Building Facilities.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Builder must be able to read a cut sheet and blueprint to build dormers that meet the approved ICC standards.
- Check parts on assigned table/press to ensure proper set up of jig, cord, parts, and nails according to individual dormer blueprint.
- Ensure proper nail placement, overhang and king post on every unit produced.
- Be able to meet production requirements in a timely manner while also ensuring the quality of each dormer.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or equivalent experience
- Must have the ability to work well with a partner
- Must have a passion for quality and be naturally attentive to details
- Must be reliable and able to work at an efficient pace
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity. Has a strong work ethic. Displays a great attitude and models teamwork.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and / or carry over 50 lbs.
- Must be able to effectively verbally communicate and exchange information with others.
- Work is primarily completed by standing or walking and may require bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching
