Overview: The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for supporting all facets of the Human Resources department, including but not limited to, Onboarding, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards functions.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support the human resources communication strategy through monitoring of Track-IT ticketing system, participation in educational campaigns, and attendance at new hire orientations.
Provide general administrative support to HR management team.
Manage and take ownership for the ongoing onboarding process for all new hires, including verifying background check and all new hire paperwork completed.
Conduct periodic audits of employee records to ensure all required documents are accounted for. Manage physical and virtual records according to record retention policy. Review and revise record retention needs with changes to legislation and legal requirements.
Assist in the implementation and communication of human resources policies and practices, all while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
Coordinate Human Resources documentation maintenance, including but not limited to, internal procedures, employee handbook, and organizational code of conduct.
Provide administrative support for a variety of tasks, including review of incoming/outgoing human resources department correspondence in the electronic mail system(s).
Assist with recordkeeping related to employee status changes, such as new hires, terminations, transfers and promotions.
Support the Talent Acquisition team with recruiting needs and serve as a backup to Talent Acquisition Coordinator, as needed.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, union and labor relations, and general human resources compliance.
Support the Employee Relations team, assisting with off-boarding of employees, employment verifications, internal reporting, and conducting employee investigations.
Support the Total Rewards team with administrative tasks related to payroll, benefits, leaves of absence and compensation, as needed.
Participate and assist in the coordination of departmental and company-wide events, such as career fairs, internship forums, etc.
Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience. SHRM-CP/PHR preferred
Hybrid position requiring 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
2+ years' experience in a human resources, talent acquisition, training and/or operations preferred
Must be proficient in Microsoft office, including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
Experience working in ADP highly preferred
Outgoing, motivated, and possess a strong desire to work with and assist people.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Potential travel to multiple locations
Strong ethical stance and understanding of confidentiality.
Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
Technologically proficient.
