The Healthcare Manager for Personal Care provides clinical leadership to the Household ensuring that the abundant life philosophy of the organization is supported. The Healthcare Manager participates in planning, organizing, directing and facilitating the clinical operations of the Household to ensure regulatory compliance, nurtures a resident directed culture, and promotes individual and team learning in the Household.
- The Healthcare Manager is responsible to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations including all regulatory documentation (i.e., resident assessments and support plans).
- Ensures clinical needs of the residents are met by providing leadership to caregiver staff in the areas of safety, falls, infection control, skin integrity, nutrition, and ADL’s/IADL’s.
- Promotes adherence to community policies with emphasis on personal care policies and DHS regulations.
- Conducts prescreen assessments for potential admissions to personal care.
- Ensures assessments and support plans (RASP’s) are developed and updated to meet resident needs and regulatory standards.
- Provides oversight and direction to staff regarding the medication administration process including ordering, storing and administering of medications. Implements physician’s orders.
- Partners with staff to lead and participate in QAPI (Quality Assurance and Process Improvement) activities. Attends and reports at meetings as required.
- Maintains working relationships with physicians and other medical personnel in support of quality clinical care in the households.
- Leads resident care plan meetings. Addresses resident, family and staff issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Participates in the hiring process to ensure staffing compliance and needs of the household are met.
- Schedules clinical staff and ensures proper coverage.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing and must possess a current Practical Nurse license (LPN); in good standing, from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Three to five years on the job experience as a nurse in long term care preferred
- Must have demonstrated leadership qualities, supervisory skills, interpersonal relationship skills, and knowledge of federal and state regulations governing clinical care, nursing practice and personal care.
- Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
