We are passionate about advancing eye health and are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Head Optometric Technician to lead our clinical team and enhance patient care.
Position Overview:
As the Head Optometric Technician, you will oversee the technical operations of our optometry practice, manage a team of technicians, and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. Your leadership skills, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence will be essential in maintaining our standards of care and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to promote professional growth.
Patient Care Management:
-Oversee the patient intake process, ensuring smooth transitions during eye examinations and procedures.
-Conduct preliminary tests, including visual acuity assessments, tonometry, and retinal imaging, while ensuring patient comfort.
Operational Efficiency:
- Manage daily operations of the optical department, optimizing workflow and addressing any bottlenecks.
- Coordinate with optometrists to ensure seamless collaboration during patient examinations and obtain required diagnostic information.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all clinical procedures are performed according to established protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Regularly assess and maintain the functionality and calibration of optical equipment.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of optical supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
- Assist in managing office budgets related to the optical department.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in ophthalmic technology or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an optometric technician; supervisory experience is a plus.
- Skills:
- Proficient in using various diagnostic equipment and technology relevant to optometry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide excellent patient care and manage staff effectively.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment.
