WATKINS GLEN
Located within five hours (300 miles) of 25 percent of the U.S. population, Watkins Glen International is the premier road racing facility in North America, three-times voted “Best NASCAR Track” by readers of USA Today. The Glen hosts a diverse portfolio of premier sports car, open wheel and stock car races throughout the year.
The compensation range for this position is: $15.00 per hour
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Proactively handle and assist guest communication issues and concerns by becoming immersed in ticketing, camping, public safety, and company policies.
- Maintain a working relationship with all departments to achieve the track and company goals including participation in business development and ticketing meetings.
- Coordinate the hiring of event time staff for tram drivers, tram ambassadors, ushers and guest services.
- Assist with development of collateral materials for employees and guests.
- Assist with all campground operations and guideline development.
- Coordinate ABI Workforce Management System.
- Prepare for upcoming event operational needs including daily assignments necessary to execute event weekends.
- Coordinate Drive the Glen Groups and Car Groups for Opening Weekend.
- Coordinate volunteer groups and Fan Ambassadors for major event weekends.
- Support the team lead with any special projects or other duties as assigned (i.e., Radio and cellphone badge tags, staff contact documents, Event Weekend Daily sheets).
- Ability to travel when needed to other NASCAR facilities for track needs and meetings.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Demonstrate knowledge of principles and techniques for planning, implementing, and supervising event staff.
- Handle conflicts, make decisions, and exercise proper action during high-tension and stressful situations based on data collected.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Maintain an effective working relationship with guests, employees, rental clients, NASCAR executives, and others encountered in the course of employment.
- Must be effective in both written and verbal communication.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- The ability to adapt and learn new programs.
- Ability to operate automobiles and golf carts.
- Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends & holidays. Approximately 2 months from an event working hours could increase to up to ten hours a day and up to seven days a week until the event has ended. There will be additional work on weekends throughout the year for non-race events averaging eight to twelve hours a day.
