Position Summary
The Grounds Maintenance workers are key team members that perform different tasks to achieve a functional and pleasant outdoor and indoor environment. This position also includes parking lot attendant duties. Hilltop has multiple parking lots and maximizing the capacity of these lots on busy days will ensure we are utilizing our parking efficiently, while also ensuring roadways and turnarounds are open and free in case of emergency vehicles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist guests and employees in parking uniformly and efficiently
- Assist in snow removal around lodge and walkways
- Assists in laying ice melt to the sidewalks and walkways
- Assists in mowing around the lodge and adjoining grounds
- Assists in landscaping along roads and around Hilltop buildings
- Assists in carpentry projects
- Assigned special projects as directed by Mt Manager
- Inspect and ensure landscape equipment are in safe operating conditions
- Assists with preventative maintenance tasks
- Performs manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials, supplies and equipment
- Ensures facility, vehicles, and equipment are clean and organized
- Alert to and aware of potentially dangerous situations on roads and walkways
- Communicate with supervisor and co-workers via radios
- Keep parking areas clean, neat, and free of trash and debris
- Answer guest questions with patience and pleasantness
- Must work well with all other departments. Must be respectful of all guests and employees.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have a clean driving record
- Able to work up to 40 hours per week including holidays, weekends, and evenings, as necessary.
- Any combination of education and experience that can demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
- Previous experience operating small equipment; skid steer, excavator, plow truck preferred
- Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to lift heavy objects while raking, shoveling, and lifting large metal objects
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Strong communication skills and good judgement skills in dealing with guests.
- Ability to react quickly under pressure.
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
- Ability to understand, follow, transmit written and oral instructions.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time in all weather conditions.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
