Grounds Persons are essential personnel, they will work under the direction of the Director of Grounds to carry out all duties required to maintain and enhance the grounds and athletic fields of the campus. Essential Functions
Utilize grounds equipment to carry out day to day maintenance activities
Work in a team environment to accomplish improvement projects
Install and maintain infrastructure as directed
Carry out preventative maintenance and repair of all grounds equipment
Apply seed, fertilizer, plant protectants to turf as directed
Clean and maintain an organized work environment
Work with contractors when necessary to accomplish goals
Participate in emergency management activities
Work as directed on snow and ice removal efforts to provide safe passage to residents, students, parents, faculty and staff in the event of winter weather
Other duties as assigned
As "essential personnel", Grounds persons are required to be available in the event of emergency situations that may or may not be related to winter weather, fire, natural disaster or any other property altering circumstance that may be caused by outside agents.
Recommended Employment Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Additional Experience
Ability to collaborate with members of the School community
Ability to collaborate with team members
Ability to find solutions to problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to follow through on instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form.
Must have good communication skills
Strong work ethic, and ability to work independently

Must be able to comply with background check, including finger prints, as required by the agency and / or state regulations.
Must have required valid licensure to drive assigned vehicles
Must have two years of equipment operation experience in a similar work environment, preferably landscaping
Working Conditions
Balancing. Bending. Climbing. Evening, weekend, and Holiday hours may be required. Lifting of at least 50 pounds. Lifting up to 10 pounds. Reaching, grasping. Repetitive tasks. Sitting. Standing. Stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling. Talking, hearing, tasting or smelling. The potential presence of fumes (airborne), toxic, or caustic chemicals. The potential risk for electrical shock. Walking around campus. Working in humid conditions. Working in outside weather conditions. Working near moving mechanical parts. Working with moderate to loud noise levels.
