Game Day Site Manager - Part Time

Job Summary
Provide game day management for all CAC home sporting events. This is a part-time position which operated during athletic seasons.
Responsibilities

  • Secure and organize student workers
  • Pre-game-
    • Assist in setting up the event venue in advance, sound system, chairs, tables, score table and other equipment for the sport.
    • Greet visiting team and officials, and usher them to where they need to go.
    • Verify that game day staff (ticket takers, scoreboard operators, ball chasers, etc.) are present and assist them as needed.
  • In-game-
    • Assist other game staff and coaches’ problems solve any technical or equipment issues that may occur.
    • Monitor the crowd and act accordingly to address problems to promote a safe and respectful, competitive environment.
    • Refer to the ACCAC and NJCAA Code of Sportsmanship when needed.
    • Interact with the fans and visitors to create a positive game day atmosphere.
    • Escort any player and/or fan who has been ejected from competition out of the building.
  • Post-game-
    • Assist in post-game clean up as needed, sound system, tables, chairs, scoreboard, and other equipment for the sports.
    • Assist the visiting team and officials with any reasonable requests they have before leaving campus.
    • Report any in-game or fan issues to the athletic director and/or campus police.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.

SPECIAL POSITION CONDITIONS: None.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The work is medium work. The employee is occasionally required to apply 10 pounds of force to move objects. the following physical abilities are required: handling, hearing, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity in data/color/observations/operating equipment, and walking. Duties performed causes fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Job is performed at or on sport-specific playing surfaces with frequent distractions such as noise and interruptions or in congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements. Requires working early morning, evening, and weekend hours.
