What You Will Be Doing
Under the general supervision of the Food Service Foreman, assists in the direction of a prisoner work crew who will prepare and serve meals for approximately 950 prisoners three times daily at the Anchorage Correctional Center (ACC) in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with:
- Knowledge in the practice, methods and procedures of volume food preparation, cooking times and serving temperatures
- Knowledge in food handling, storage and rotation techniques, to avoid cross contamination and recognize critical control points
- Knowledge in regular or modified diets/menus, content and limitations
- Ability to use dietary instructional manuals
- Ability to plan and prepare meals for transport to inmate housing mods
- Knowledge of kitchen machinery, tools, equipment etc…
- Ability to follow institutional Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures
- Adhere to Security Guidelines set forth by the Institution

PREA NOTIFICATION

Please be aware – this position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN)/Alaska Corrections Offender Management System (ACOMS). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN/ACOMS. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction, or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally, security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
