Experienced Pet Groomer (2-3 days a week)
Wet Paws Mobile Pet Grooming is full-service mobile grooming for dogs and cats in the safety and comfort of our specialized mobile grooming spa at our clients’ home or office. Our self-contained vans are cage-free and climate controlled, which is less stressful and more comfortable for everyone.
We are looking for an experienced pet groomer to join our mobile pet care team. Our ideal candidate is an animal lover who has grooming training and experience in a retail salon or mobile grooming environment. You must be comfortable bathing and drying dogs and cats of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Your grooming duties will also include nail clipping, brushing and de-shedding treatments, scissor or clipper haircuts, and more. We expect candidates for this position to have the trimming and shearing skills necessary to fulfill client expectations. As a Groomer, you should have a passion for helping our animal friends look their best, while keeping them safe and comfortable.
Looking for part-time (2-3 days a week) which may include weekdays and/or weekends.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $150.00 - $250.00 per day
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week

Essential Job Duties:
- Groom dogs and cats in a mobile grooming environment (van) at the pet owner’s home, office, or other scheduled location, within a pre-determined amount of time
- Brush animal coats removing debris, knots, mats, and tangles
- Trim, shear, or style animal coats according to owner specifications and breed norms
Suggest additional services or products when pet coat/skin condition warrant
- Utilize provided technology and software to open and close appointments, process customer payments, update owner information and pet profile (including photos), and book future appointments
- Safely and legally operate the mobile salon, a large Sprinter-style van, to/from all appointments in compliance with all local traffic laws and regulations
- Maintain the mobile grooming van in adherence with established cleaning protocols, shift duties, and provided checklists
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- 1 or more years of professional grooming experience required
- Successful completion of an apprenticeship, continuing education, or formal training desired but not required
- Excellent and safe hand shearing, electric clipper, and scissoring skills
- Comfort working with various breeds of cats utilizing electric grooming table, dryer, sink/tub, clippers, and vacuums
- Position requires standing for a sustained period of time, getting in and out of the van, walking to and from the van, and working in various weather conditions; the working environment can be noisy and wet
- Excellent customer service, communication, and time management skills
- Maintain a valid New Mexico driver’s license and satisfactory driving record, including the ability to be added to company vehicle insurance policy as determined by insurance carrier
- Basic grooming equipment provided; you may provide and use your personal equipment if desired
- Satisfactory background check (driving record, reference check, etc.)
- Pet CPR and First Aid certification (already have or be willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $150.00 - $250.00 per day

- Will you be able to reliably commute to the Tramway & Central area in Albuquerque to pick up a company vehicle and then drive to appointments? This includes having a valid state-issued driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record as determined by our commercial insurance carrier. For commuting purposes, we are also near ABQ Ride bus routes 1, 66, & 777.
- How many years of professional dog and/or cat grooming experience in a shop/salon/mobile do you have?
- What days of the week do you regularly have availability to work a full shift (approx. 8:00 am and to 5:30 pm)? We schedule appointments 7 days a week. We need both weekday and weekend availability.
