JOB SUMMARY We are seeking an Exercise Specialist to participate in screening individuals' medical histories and current health status to identify major health risk factors; administer diagnostic testing procedures and counsel individuals regarding use of equipment; perform a wide variety of stress tests. Perform cardiac monitoring testing following established protocols.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in screening individuals' medical histories and current Health status to identify major health risk factors; administer stress testing procedures and counsel individuals regarding use of exercise equipment. Perform a wide variety of fitness assessments and/or non-invasive cardiopulmonary tests according to work site. Recognizes symptom changes & signs of problems. Knows appropriate medical response / processes. Initiates first responder care.
Identify diagnostic stress lab needs; manages appropriate level of supplies and monitors equipment maintenance. Assess the stress-testing environment and make recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety and compliance with various regulatory bodies (OSHA, Joint commission, etc.).
Apply and remove holter, event, or blood pressure monitors to patients; explain procedures including, but not limited to, equipment usage, the patients responsibility for keeping a diary/record and the use of event monitors and data transmittal as needed. Analyze digitized information from pre-recorded ambulatory ECG tapes/digital monitors using specialized software. Edit information and generate quantitative arrhythmia reports for physician review.
Identifies opportunities to enhance workflows in collaboration with clinic leadership. Assist in developing operating policies and procedures.
Understands care management and interacts as patient advocate for appropriate referrals (non-physician) to other professionals or community services as indicated.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field required.
No previous experience required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire)
JOB HOURS The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
